Google has recently added “Views” to Google+ profiles and pages. The counter appears right next to your number of Followers on your profile. The Views count includes the number of views you have had to your profile, posts, photos, and videos. While the Google Help Center provides the basics, Google+ Engineer Yonatan Zunger provided more details on his Google+ profile.
One of the key takeaways for small businesses seeking to grow an audience and engagement on Google+ is that your Views number does not necessarily correlate with your actual number of followers. Someone asked Zunger about people who have a large number of views but a relatively low number of followers and Zunger explained, “Some people have a lot of followers but don’t engage with them well, while other people engage amazingly with a smaller group.” Definitely something to keep in mind as you focus on growing your social presence!
