This year’s National Small Business Week, hosted by the U. S. Small Business Administration June 16 – June 21, will present a series of matchmaking events, providing face-to-face meetings between representatives of federal agencies and prime contractors with those small businesses seeking contracting and sub-contracting opportunities.

The first of these events is June 18 at the Arlington Convention Center in Arlington, Texas, located between Dallas and Fort Worth. Among the activities scheduled are speed mentoring, as well as panels on accessing capital, government contracting, exporting, supply chain, the use of social media, and other relevant and helpful topics. The business matchmaking opportunities are scheduled to take place throughout the day.

On June 20 and 21, the business matchmaking opportunities shift to Washington, D.C. and the Renaissance Hotel. Speed mentoring sessions will also take place, and there will be awards ceremonies during breakfast and lunch, with the founder of Angie’s List, Angie Hicks, the scheduled guest speaker.

All small businesses are eligible to attend and participate. Registration for National Small Business Week is required as is a DUNS number, which can be obtained at  www.dnb.com/us. Small businesses that wish to attend must also register with System Award Management, the official federal database of small businesses seeking to obtain federal contracts. Complete information is available at www.sam.gov.

Once registration is completed, prospective participants will be issued a code that will allow them to complete the matchmaking process at nsbw.mybusinessmatches.com.

Registration closes Wednesday, June 12, 2013.
