July 28, 2010 SuperMedia Connects Buyers and Sellers in New Question, Answer and Lead Generation Social Platform Called “AskLearnHire” DALLAS – SuperMedia LLC (NASDAQ:SPMD) today beta-launched a lead generation social platform to connect buyers and sellers in category-specific communities. “AskLearnHire” Web sites are designed to reach consumers who research online and make educated local purchase decisions based on online reviews and ratings and the exchange of relevant information. The first three category-specific communities included in the beta launch are Mortgages at SuperMortgages.com, Heating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) at SuperHVAC.com, and Home Remodeling at SuperRemodelers.com. For consumers, AskLearnHire sites provide a place to research and educate themselves before they make a decision or start a project. Consumers participate by asking and answering questions, searching the library, commenting on articles, rating content, requesting to hire businesses and reviewing any businesses used. For businesses, AskLearnHire sites serve as a dedicated, industry-specific environment where businesses can gain exposure and attract more leads. Businesses register to participate on the sites and interact by answering consumers’ questions and contributing articles. Businesses that actively provide content gain more visibility and have a greater chance to receive more leads. “SuperMedia aims to enable local buying decisions and AskLearnHire provides a new social platform where businesses and consumers can easily interact and share information on specific categories,” said Robyn Rose, vice president of product management at SuperMedia. “We chose the initial categories for the beta based on popular search terms and subject areas where it’s important to have professional guidance and consumer feedback to make a decision.” During the beta phase, leads will be sent to participating businesses at no charge. After official launch, businesses can purchase exclusive leads at a competitive market fee. Leads are only offered to one business at a time with information about the consumer’s needs so businesses can evaluate the lead before deciding to accept it. Businesses are only charged for the lead if they accept it. The consumer’s contact information is only shared with the business once the lead has been accepted, which eliminates consumers being contacted by multiple businesses. “The beta is an important time to learn from clients and consumers on how they are using the site, what they do and don’t like, and how we can improve the experience,” said Rose. “The most successful social environment is when you allow the community to define itself and we intend to change and evolve each site as necessary to make it more useful.”
